Pelorus Bridge
About the campsite:
Set beside the emerald green Pelorus River, Pelorus Bridge Campsite combines forest immersion, freshwater swimming and film history in one scenic location. The surrounding native bush and clear river pools create one of the most visually appealing DOC serviced campsites in the region.
The campsite layout provides sheltered parking areas suitable for campervans, with well maintained facilities including toilets and cooking shelters. The forest environment offers shade and protection from weather.
The river is the main attraction, offering swimming holes, rock jumping spots and gentle kayaking sections. Walking tracks through the forest provide access to filming locations made famous by The Hobbit and scenic viewpoints above the river gorge.
For campervan travellers, Pelorus Bridge works well as a multi night base. Arriving early allows access to popular swimming areas before peak use.
Pelorus Bridge delivers river focused recreation and forest scenery that enhance Marlborough campervan travel.
