Pinders Pond

About the campsite:

Set among rocky outcrops and historic gold mining remnants, Pinders Pond offers freedom camping beside one of Central Otago most scenic freshwater swimming holes. The rustic environment and clear water create a calm and timeless atmosphere.

The camping area is informal and positioned near the pond edge, allowing campervans to park within walking distance of swimming access. Facilities are not provided, so travellers must arrive fully self contained.

The surrounding area offers swimming, photography and quiet relaxation opportunities. The gold mining history adds cultural interest to the landscape.

For campervan travellers, Pinders Pond works best as a short scenic overnight stop. Arriving earlier allows swimming before evening temperatures drop.
